Yes, I am a fan but not for business dinner. Not a criticism but it just not feasible for too much noise. We had a large party next to us, which they mingle by standing and it made it further noisy.
Good:
Good service
Good food
Bad:
The place is too noisy to have a business dinner above 4 people. You will not able to hear. -

During this year's Houston Restaurant Weeks, I've been a bit let down by the service at the H-Town Restaurant Group spots -- a surprise, as these are among my favorite places to go in Houston. A business lunch at Hugo's took two hours; a weekend lunch at Xochi took 2.5 hours plus a complete nightmare situation at the Marriott Marquis' vallet. Still, Prego had been the one member of the restaurant group I had never visited -- and HRW seemed the perfect excuse.
Needless to say, Prego was great all around! During my visit, Prego was offering both the $20 two-course lunch or $20 two-course brunch. Italian food items tend to not lend themselves too well to a bunch setting, but the preparations were great. The potato gnocchi were flavorful and just the right size, while the chicken and waffle main course featured an outstanding parmesan crusting. You'd think that wouldn't pair well with maple syrup, but you'd be surprised.
Above all, the service was outstanding. Beverages and waters were refilled constantly, and warm bread and olive oil were on the table to keep me busy as I waited for a friend to arrive. Edson was on top of everything.
I really enjoyed this brunch, and especially enjoyed the service. Hopefully the rest of the H-Town group can take some notes from Prego. -

Came here with a large group and had a great time. The servers were prompt and friendly, and the food was delicious (the only thing I'd complain about is that the initial bread was cold and sad. Maybe it'd been sitting out?).
I ordered the Gnocchi con Manzo, which the portion was a bit small but it was pretty good (had a nice meaty flavor, I liked it but I'll probably try something else next time if you know what I mean). A few of the other dishes we ordered were the Ravioli di Anitra (I loved the combination of the savory duck ravioli, sweet pear, and crunchy chopped pistachios), the Zucca (risotto with butternut squash and shrimp, was rich and creamy), and the Prego Ravioli (I didn't try this one, but my friend enjoyed it!). Overall, this was a good dining experience and I'll be coming back. -

Came here for Houston restaurant week 2019 lunch ($20). Had a reservation beforehand but wasn't necessary since there were only two other parties in the whole restaurant. Had to pay for parking in this West U shopping strip which I wasn't a fan of, but it was only a few bucks at least. Our waiter was super nice and patient while we were waiting on a latecomer. I got the fried calamari and the chicken Parmesan with the wine pairing (white wine). The calamari dish was actually really big and it was cooked perfectly with little to no seasoning (which I like most). Just lemon and marinara is all you need! The chicken parm came with 2 big patties and a small scoop of penne. The sauce over the penne was one of the best I've had, had a little sweetness in the tomato. The cheese was gooey and delicious on the chicken. Wish there was a third course/dessert option for the lunch menu but what a steal at this price and the amount you get! Can't wait to come back!

Man, I don't know what it is about this place that makes for bad photos, but everything else they've got down.
Taglierini Pomodoro
This is a tomato sauce done right. Creamy chunks of tomato cooked all. the. way. so it doesn't taste like raw tomato anymore. House-made fresh as possible teeny taglierini pasta that's not overcooked into a mush. Something wonderfully simple done totally right.
I'm so here for this place. The ratings should be significantly higher.
